Drought help for Victorian farmers

Drought affected Victorian farmers will get relief under a new drought loan plan from the Victorian and federal governments

Victorian farmers crippled by drought will have access to $30 million in loans under a new government plan.

The federal and Victorian governments have been hashing out the details of the plan that will help drought-ravaged farmers get back on their feet.

Federal Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said the governments would now focus on finalising the scheme guidelines.

"I am pleased to say we have now reached broad agreement with the Victorian government, and are on the way to making these funds available to Victorian farm businesses," Mr Joyce said on Wednesday.
