Foreign Minister heads to China, Japan

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop is travelling to China and Japan to 'deepen and broaden' Australia's strategic relationships.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop will meet with her Japanese and Chinese counterparts during a brief trip to Asia next week.

Ms Bishop will discuss Australia's response to the "ongoing, provocative and dangerous" conduct of North Korea with ministers in Japan and co-chair a strategic dialogue in China.

The trip will include meetings with several ministers and key Australian business figures, Ms Bishop said in a statement on Sunday.
