Government seeks families wanting nannies

Families wanting to be part of the government's trial of nanny subsidies have until October 30 to lodge an application.

Families struggling to find traditional child care can now apply to be part of the federal government's nanny trial for the next two years.

As part of its planned overhaul of childcare subsidies, the government is offering payments to help cover nanny fees for 10,000 children.

Families interested in being part of the $246 million nanny pilot program have until October 30 to lodge an application through the Department of Social Services website.
