Controversial high-stakes punter Eddie Hayson has denied speculation linking him to allegations of NRL match-fixing.

Hayson has been linked to betting on two NRL matches last year that are the subject of a NSW Organised Crime Squad investigation, Manly's round-16 match against South Sydney and the Sea Eagles' round-24 clash with Parramatta.

"It's absolute bulls**t," Hayson told Fairfax Media.

"It doesn't matter what games they're talking about: match-fixing doesn't exist in rugby league, as far as I know. As for the two games they are talking about, I would be very surprised if I had put one dollar on either of those matches. I've been around betting my whole life, and I can tell you this is all bulls**t."

In the interview, ex-brothel owner Hayson said a former associate was spreading lies about him.

Last Thursday, the Organised Crime Squad said it was investigating match-fixing allegations surrounding the two Manly fixtures.
