Labor seeks Joyce legal advice

The federal opposition has sought to suspend question time as it probes the government over the future of Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce.

Labor is trying to force the government to release legal advice on Barnaby Joyce's eligibility to sit in parliament.

Opposition manager of business Tony Burke on Monday moved to suspend parliament question time as Labor attacked the government for continuing to accept the vote of the Nationals' leader.

"This is a government without legitimacy," Mr Burke said.
