MP rejects new same-sex parent report

A report in the Medical Journal of Australia has found that it is discrimination, not same-sex parents that harms children.

A federal Liberal MP has dismissed a report that says discrimination, not same-sex parents, harms children

The Kids Are OK report, published in the Medical Journal of Australia, reviewed decades of peer-reviewed research to dispell what it describes as misinformation circulating about children with same-sex parents.

But Liberal MP Luke Howarth disagreed, telling reporters in Canberra on Monday: "It's common sense that children need a mother and a father".
