Nicki Minaj has been arrested in the Netherlands for alleged drug possession.

The background: The US rapper was travelling to Manchester in the UK on Saturday evening as part of her Pink Friday World Tour when she was detained at Amsterdam airport.

In a series of social media posts, Minaj claimed that police said they "found weed" in her luggage after items were checked by customs.

Cannabis is illegal in the Netherlands, but it is tolerated for recreational use.
