The royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is turning into a who's who of some of the world's biggest celebrities.

They are among celebrities, royalty, athletes and family friends in the 600-strong congregation invited to St. George's Chapel in Windsor.

Talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey was an early arrival, along with Idris Elba and singer James Blunt.

George Clooney and his wife Amal arrived a short while later along with David and Victoria Beckham.

Sir Elton John, tennis legend Serena Williams, James Cordern, stars and actress Priyanka Chopra.

Members of the cast of Suits, the TV show Ms Markle starred in until her engagement, are also seated in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

But it's not just star friends.

The family of Harry's mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales, have also arrived. Earl Spencer, his children and former wife Kitty, arrived earlier.

Lady Jane Fellowes, one of Diana's sisters, will give a reading.

The Duchess of Cambridge's parents Carole and Michael Middleton, and siblings James and Pippa, are also attending.

Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Harry's uncle the Duke of York, walked in later wearing a navy suit. Harry's cousin Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike.

No politicians have been invited, except for former British prime minister John Major who took on a guardian role for Prince Harry after Diana's death.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will wed at the chapel in an hour-long service starting at 9pm Sydney time.

Harry's mentor, former Welsh Guards officer Mark Dyer, has arrived at St George's Chapel, as has the prince's former girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
