An emergency bushfire warning has been issued for residents in and around Humpty Doo and Milne in the Northern Territory.

People are being asked to take action immediately and any delay "puts your life at risk", and Bushfires NT says "the risk of loss of life or threat to properties is almost certain or has occurred".
Firefighters are defending assets in the vicinity of Duff Rd, Buckley Rd, Hill Rd, Wanderrie Rd, Cattle Dog Ct, Nolan Rd, Kostka Rd, Thomas Rd and Powell Rd in Humpty Doo, east of Darwin.

South of Darwin, in Milne, properties are under threat around Dundee Rd, Lavington Rd, Serrata Rd, Barramundi Dr, Javelin Rd, Arius Rd, Liza Rd and Empreror Rd.

The Dundee township will be impacted, as will Berry Springs.

Bushfires NT has announced a total fire ban for Monday in the Darwin and Adelaide River areas, the fifth consecutive day of total fire bans.
