PM praises Brandis over citizenship laws

Prime Minster Malcolm Turnbull has praised his colleague George Brandis for helping secure new terror laws.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has congratulated Attorney-General George Brandis for securing new citizenship laws through the parliament.

Legislation stripping dual national terror supporters of their Australian citizenship passed the Senate on Thursday night.

"I commend the attorney-general for his legislative efforts in securing that passage," Mr Turnbull said at the opening of the Australian Crime Commission's new headquarters in Canberra.
