Push for unified Labor vote on same sex marriage

The Labor Party is gearing up for a battle over gay marriage at its upcoming national conference in July.

 

Acting Opposition Leader Tanya Plibersek is pushing for the party to dump a conscience vote on the issue in favour of a binding vote - a move that could lead to some MPs crossing the floor.

 

Justin Koonin is the Convenor of the Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby.

 

He spoke to Peggy Giakoumelos about what the push by Tanya Plibersek could mean.
