Qld families miss out on childcare funding

The Greens say Queensland families are missing out on about $287 million in childcare funding delayed by the federal government by one year.

More than 185,000 Queensland families have missed out on additional childcare funding in this year's budget, according to The Greens.

Senators Larissa Waters and Sarah Hanson-Young have attended a childcare centre in Brisbane where they hit out at the federal government's decision to delay its childcare package reforms by one year.

Ms Waters said 188,950 families had missed out on an extra $30 a week, taking the total to $287 million.
