Schoolies brawled on the foreshore on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula overnight, with one hurling a beer bottle at a police cruiser.

A large group of youths gathered at Rye with "at least one bottle" thrown at a police car, acting Inspector Dean Grande told AAP on Sunday.

Officers returned to reports of a brawl at about 11pm, with the riot squad, dog squad and police helicopter tasked to the area.

No one was arrested and no injuries were reported.
