North Melbourne have agreed to play an extra AFL game at Blundstone Arena in Hobart from next year.

The club announced an extension of their deal on Tuesday, increasing their commitment to play four games in Tasmania until at least the end of the 2021 season.

The Roos have played 18 games in Hobart since they first started hosting matches in the city in a bid to improve their bottom line, winning 14 and losing four.

"We love playing in Hobart and have a fantastic record at Blundstone Arena," chief executive Carl Dilena said.

"The support we receive from Tasmanian football lovers has always been exceptional and we look forward to bringing more elite football to Tasmania and continuing our investment in talent pathways and community programs."

North's new AFLW side will also play two games in Tasmania when it joins the league next season.
