The RSPCA has seized a dog after a video posted on social media appeared to show a man kicking it at a Gold Coast beach.

RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty said the canine was picked up on Tuesday afternoon.

Mr Beatty said the inspector was continuing to investigate the matter and would have to decide if the man, believed to be the owner, would be charged.

The video, posted on Facebook on Monday, appeared to show a man kicking a dog and repeatedly tugging on its lead as he and a woman with another dog got the animals down from a ute at Currumbin.

Mr Beatty said the dog would be cared for by the RSPCA at Wacol while the investigation continued.
