Two men have been charged over riots which erupted in Melbourne during a visit by controversial British speaker Milo Yiannopoulos.

Two men have been charged after riots broke out in Melbourne during an event staged by controversial British speaker Milo Yiannopoulos.

Brawls erupted during protests outside the Kensington venue where the right-wing commentator held an event on December 4.

A 33-year-old Wonthaggi man and a 28-year-old Sunbury man have been charged with affray and riotous behaviour and will front Melbourne Magistrates Court on June 8, police said on Friday.
