Watson ousts Aussie Fourlis in Hobart

Former Hobart International champion Heather Watson has beaten Australian wildcard Jaimee Fourlis to make the quarter-finals of the event she won in 2015.

Heather Watson has booked a spot in the Hobart International quarter-finals, brushing aside teenage Australian wildcard Jaimee Fourlis in straight sets.

Forced to qualify at the event she won in 2015, world No.74 Watson broke Fourlis four times in the 6-2 6-2 victory on Wednesday.

Fourlis registered her maiden WTA win to make the second round but was outgunned by Britain's Watson, who'll meet Serbian Donna Vekic for a semi-final berth.
