The holiday season is upon us when many people get together for family gatherings, using the roads to get there.

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Anthony Cooke says the risk of road fatalities also increases during the Christmas/New Year festive season.

He spoke to May Khalil from SBS Kurdish about safety during the holiday period.
