The national group for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children has received dedicated funding for the first time in a federal budget, in a move welcomed by its CEO, Catherine Liddle.

For the first time, the federal budget has included dedicated funding for Aboriginal community-controlled organisations SNAICC and NATSIEC.

The national advocacy group for First Nations children and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Corporation will receive a total of $29.1 million over 4 years to work with the government on early childhood and education.

SNAICC CEO Catherine Liddle has told Biwa Kwan that it is important that Aboriginal community-controlled organisations have the resources to continue their work to help achieve the Closing the Gap outcomes.
