How false rumours, misinformation and disinformation are fuelling social media

The ongoing unrest in the UK was supposedly started by a false rumour. The origins of the claims that triggered riots across the country are still being investigated, with authorities struggling to determine if it was mis- or dis-information, and who was behind it. It's thought at any given time there are hundreds of millions of fake accounts and bots across social media platforms.
