Severe Tropical Cyclone Kirrily barrels towards Queensland

Severe Tropical Cyclone Kirrily has intensified as it tracks toward Townsville in north Queensland. Now a category three cyclone bringing wind gusts of up to 165 kilometers per hour, it's forecast to cross the coast close to the city of around 180,000 people. Local authorities fear thousands of homes will be impacted with hundreds likely to be left uninhabitable.
