Beachley takes Indigenous girls surfing

Seven-time world champion surfer Layne Beachley has shown a group of Indigenous girls how to surf, SBS' Evan Charlton reports.

For many Australian families who live near the coast - summer holidays are a time to head for the beach.

But for those who live some distance from the beach - that opportunity can be a rare occurrence.

This week though, seven-time world champion surfer Layne Beachley has hosted a group of indigenous girls from Sydney's south western suburb and shown them how to surf.
