A 45-year-old West Australian man has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault after allegedly restraining three Aboriginal children with cable ties outside a home in Broome.

Police were called to a home in Conkerberry Road in Cable Beach on Tuesday afternoon after reports of trespassing. Officers found a six-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy physically restrained.

Officers requested medical assistance, and the pair were assessed by St John Ambulance paramedics before being reunited with family.
Police later identified a third child, an eight-year-old boy, who had also been detained at the property, but had managed to flee.

A video was live streamed to Facebook outside the property, and show the two children restrained at the wrists, and to each other, with cable ties against a garage door.

Another photo also circulated online of all three children restrained at the property.

The video has since been removed by the user but it accumulated over 27,000 views and was shared 1,800 times.

The accused was granted bail and is due to appear in court at a later date.

Police are working with those involved and their families to investigate the incident and are encouraging community members to "allow the court to run its course".
