Call to protect Northern Territory park from fracking

Indigenous leaders are converging on Canberra to protest potential fracking in a Northern Territory national park.

The traditional owners of the Watarrka (Kings Canyon) National Park will seek an emergency heritage listing after the NT government didn't respond to a request to protect the park from a fracking exploration licence.

"We're not going to give it to mining company, that'll be breaking our spirit, drilling into that land," said Watarrka
traditional owner Julie Clyne.
