The fourth annual Indigenous Health May Day Twitter fest, #IHMayDay16, featured Indigenous health professionals who tweeted across a myriad of health issues to alternating hash tags on Thursday.
Professor Bronwyn Carlson, using her Twitter account, and Dr Lynore Geia who managed the Twitter page, an alternating account that discusses Indigenous issues, hosted the 'Twitter festival' from Wollongong University.
The theme was 'Youth and Families, and Suicide Prevention', but the discussion touched on nearly every health concern and causes that confront Indigenous Australians.
Guest tweeters included Assistant Health Minister Ken Wyatt and Labor Senator Nova Peris, along with hundreds more from their homes and phones.
