Latrell Mitchell has been commended for a classy act where he gave his match boots to a fan after earlier accidentally hitting them with a football.

Mitchell kicked the ball into the stands at Penrith Stadium as he tried to stop the Panthers scoring another try in the 26-12 loss overnight.

The ball accidentally hit an elderly lady who was seated in the first few rows, and thankfully she was not hurt.

Following full-time, the Biripi and Wiradjuri star went over to see her, where they shared a hug and he gave her the boots.

Images of the moment were quickly shared online by the NRL Roast account, with many praising his generosity.

Teammate Cody Walker shared the story with the words 'What a guy' while Bulldogs winger Josh Addo-Carr did the same, saying 'My Brother'.

The Panthers were too strong in the grand final rematch with a commanding 6 tries to 2 win.

The match was well in the balance after halftime, but an eight-point try awarded to Penrith proved to be a turning point. Rabbitohs halfback Lachlan Ilias connected with the face of Penrith winger Taylan May he was touching down in the corner.
