Malcolm Turnbull is expected to be sworn in as Prime Minister of Australia on Tuesday. But will he be better for Indigenous affairs than his predecessor Tony Abbott?

In a dramatic leadership spill on Monday evening, Malcolm Turnbull was voted 54-44 as leader of the Liberal Party by his colleagues and is expected to be sworn in as Prime Minister of Australia on Tuesday in place of Tony Abbott.

Julie Bishop defeated Kevin Andrews 70-30 to be reelected deputy Liberal leader.

But will the incoming Prime Minister better represent the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples than Tony Abbott?
