Retired sergeant Rick Bond was the senior police officer supervising on August 4, 2014 at the South Hedland Watch House in WA where Ms Dhu, 22, was held in custody.

Ms Dhu was later declared dead at the Hedland Health Campus.

At 11.30am on Wednesday, Mr Bond will tell the WA Coroner his version of what happened.

Mr Bond's testimony comes after senior constable Shelly Burgess told the inquest on Monday that he had whispered in Ms Dhu's ear: "you're a f****** junkie".

The inquest heard there was a CCTV recording in the room he uttered those words.

Other junior police officers have testified that Mr Bond thought Ms Dhu was faking being sick.

Senior constable Burgess also admitted at the inquest that she was acting inhumanely and was not professional in her treatment of Ms Dhu.

In November, the inquest found Ms Dhu died from pneumonia and septicaemia.

Ms Dhu was detained over unpaid fines of $3,622.

The inquest is expected to close on Thursday.
