Newcastle Yowies win the men's Knockout and RAB takes the glory for the women's!

Over the long weekend 58 Mens teams battled it out for the Koori Knockouts Championship Shield but the Yowies proved to be too strong against the other teams.

It’s been 4 years since the Yowies have taken out the Koori Knockout title but the win is well deserved and they played hard to take out the title.
The game was tight in the first half but by the second the Yowies were just too strong and the final score was 22 Yowies - 8 Griffith Three-Ways.

Ryan Walker took home the well deserved title as the Player of the Series title for his tireless efforts through the entire weekend.
The Yowies will host Koori knockout in the Newcastle region in 2018 and no doubt it will be another crowd pleaser.

In the women's grand final Redfern All Blacks were given the mammoth task of defeating an inform Dunghutti Jindas. They scraped through in the end with an 8 - 12 win proving why they were the tournament favourites.

In the under 12s game, the La Perouse Panthers dominated the Newcastle All Blacks while Owen Craigie's under 15's Yowies  pulled themselves over the line in their game against Combined Countries. In the under 17s game the boys showed off their talent and proved why they might be the next big thing in the NRL with the Illawarra Titans winning against Queanbeyan Canberra United.
