Three amateur football players have painted their bodies black to celebrate their club's 'Mad Monday' celebration.

The three donned blackface to impersonate the Williams’ sisters and Aliir Aliir, a Sudanese Sydney Swans player.

Beau Grundy, a Tasmanian Penguin Football Club player, posted the image in a Mad Monday Facebook page with the caption reading, 'Williams sisters and Aliir Aliir #madmonday'.

The image was also shared on Mr Grundy’s Facebook profile but has since been deleted.

An AFL Tasmania spokesperson said the individual clubs are responsible for their involvement with Mad Monday.

“We don’t condone [blackface] and it isn’t in keeping with our values,” the spokesperson said.

"We will be working with the league and club to get more information and to see how we can assist in providing education to the players."

Mad Monday is an end-of-season celebration for football players often involving heavy drinking and extreme costumes.

Twitter has been flooded with reactions of people sick of blackface being used to impersonate black people.
