The time cut was set at 31 minutes and 27 seconds behind stage winner Geraint Thomas.

Marcel Kittel (Katusha-Alpecin) finished 42 minutes and 52 seconds down and Mark Renshaw (Dimension Data) 44 minutes and nine seconds in arrears.

Renshaw's team mate Mark Cavendish finished one hour, five minutes and 33 seconds behind Thomas with the broom wagon right behind him. It comes a day after Cavendish just made the Stage 10 time cut with a minute to spare.

Renshaw appeared unhappy with race organisers ASO after the finish.

"That's what the Tour de France wanted," Renshaw said. "A stage like that I don't know who else is out of the delay, but that's what they...they knew it was coming.

"Short stage like that it's every man for himself. I was with Dylan Groenewegen for a long time he just had a lot of help there and I couldn't follow on the second climb and that was it."

Kittel's Katusha-Alpecin team mate Rick Zabel fininshed just five seconds behind the time cut, commissaires initially binning him. But he was later readmitted.
