The top two teams have been on a collision course towards this Grand Final Series since Christmas and the four games played have not disappointed.

Both teams swept their Semi-Finals, beating league powerhouses Perth and NZ to advance and have engaged in a sometimes testy final series.

Melbourne had the upper hand on Adelaide throughout the season and with the final game on home boards it would appear to hold the advantage but now with a single game deciding the outcome, anything and everything is possible.

“It’s been an absolutely amazing series and I’m sure Game 5 is going to be amazing as well,” Melbourne head coach Dean Vickerman said. “Two teams going at it, it’s been a pleasure to be a part of.”

Vickerman added that, in his view, the series sits “right up there” with the best championship showdowns the league has ever seen.

“The competitive nature, the way this thing has gone back and forth, the pace that it has been played at and the physicality… it’s a pretty special series,” he said."

Both teams are sitting on four titles apiece with Melbourne last winning in 2008 while Adelaide has not lifted the Dr John Raschke Trophy since 2002 so motivation will be high.

Game 5 will be live on SBS, Saturday 31 March from 6pm ADET with the live stream available in the SBSOnDemand Apps or at the SBS Sport website.
