Six-time NBL champion Damian Martin to join star-studded NBL commentary team

Six-time NBL champion Damian Martin will add to the formidable commentary team for the 2020-21 NBL season, set to tip-off this Friday.

Every game of the upcoming 2020-21 NBL season will again be LIVE, FREE and in HD via , with select games also live on SBS VICELAND.

Martin retired at the conclusion of last year's season, following a decorated career in which he won six titles with the Perth Wildcats as well as six Defensive Player of the Year accolades. The award has been renamed as the Damian Martin Trophy going forward in his honour.

Martin joins experts including Andrew Gaze, Corey 'Homicide' Williams, Shane Heal, Liam Santamaria, Brad Rosen, Shawn Redhage, Cam Tragardh and Peter Hooley.

Dwayne Russell, John Casey, Lachy Reid, Matt Russell, Jack Heverin, Jenni Screen, Neroli Meadows, Louise Ransome, Jo Healy, Cam Luke and Jon Guarna will make up the rest of the commentary team.

The 2020-21 NBL Season will be broadcast live on SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand, tipping off this Friday when the Adelaide 36ers take on Melbourne United at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, promising fans an outstanding viewing experience.

"We are delighted with our broadcast partners and commentary team for the forthcoming season," Loeliger said. 

“Fans can expect a world class broadcast that provides in-depth analysis and quality entertainment across Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the world.

“The NBL enjoyed record broadcast audiences last season and we look forward to more strong growth this season as fans enjoy what is one of the best basketball leagues in the world outside of the NBA.”

Flagship talk show  will also return this season, as Cam Luke, Corey Williams and Liam Santamaria debate the league's hottest topics and deliver the latest news every Tuesday night at 7:00pm (AEDT) on  and the NBL's Twitter, Facebook and YouTube pages.
