Look, it can be hard to glean much hope from the 24-hour news cycle these days. is a real thing - even seasoned news junkies are . After all, there's only so much bad news a single person can take.

So when a genuine, pure, lasting love story manages to break through all the political noise, it's worth holding on to.

And when it comes to Michelle and Barack Obama's love story, we just can't let go.

Like, we straight up refuse to.

Which is precisely why we're celebrating the Obama's 27th wedding anniversary as if it were our very own.

The loved-up empty nesters took to social media today to share their typically adorable messages of love for one another - complete with the youthful spark of young love we've come to expect over the years (I mean, he still calls her 'babe'!).
"27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure," Michelle tweeted.

"I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next - while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago.

"Happy anniversary, Barack."

Barack  tweeted in return: "Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!"

Needless to say, we're not the only ones celebrating alongside them.
Happy anniversary to the happy couple.

Now excuse us, we have something in our eye.
