'Drag Race' fave Shangela to star in 'Riverdale' spinoff series

Drag Race star Shangela continues to go from strength to strength.

Earlier this year, the All-Stars favourite . Then she signed on to called We're Here.

Now the queen has booked yet another high-profile gig, landing a role in the upcoming Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene.

According to Shangie will be playing the role of a "ruthless" drag queen named Devereaux.

Devereaux's character description reads: “From internet personality to A-list drag queen. Her greatest talent is flaunting this wave of success. Her ruthless competitiveness is what keeps her on top.”
NewNowNext that Katy Keene will revolve around Katy (Lucy Hale), a young fashion designer chasing her dreams in New York City. One of Katy's best friends is a drag queen named Ginger Lopez/Jorge (played by Jonny Beauchamp), who just so happens to be Devereaux's arch nemesis.


The show’s synopsis explains that Jorge "works at his family’s bodega and has his eye on Broadway, but after a series of rejections, he hopes to take his drag performance career as Ginger to the next level.”

To quote Mama Ru, we can't wait to see how this turns out.
