Having just shown off her acting chops as part of the incredible Hustlers ensemble, rapper Cardi B is reportedly eyeing other opportunities on screen - and is even the front-runner to star as Fran Fine in a reboot of The Nanny.

Having the idea of rebooting the famous sitcom in 2018, Fran Drescher has now revealed that she's in talks with the rap star - even meeting with her reps to discuss the role.

"That was just kind of laying out groundwork," Drescher told of the meeting.

"I do think she’s great, and she would be kinda like my top choice, if she’s disciplined to do this show every week."

She added: "It can be a grind, but she’s got a baby now and it could be a very comfortable, lovely way to, you know, work, be seen worldwide, and still do mini-concert tours when you’re on hiatus.”
Needless to say, fans of The Nanny are getting excited at the prospect of a reboot, with many agreeing that Cardi B would be an ideal option to play the titular role.

It also looks like Drescher would be involved - possibly playing her original character's mother.

"I could play Sylvia, the mom. And John Leguizamo could play [Fran’s dad], Morty," Drescher mused.

"So, you know, we'll see. There's a lot of opportunities to do something fantastic with it and bring it right into the 21st century."

We have our fingers firmly crossed.
