Trans children are far more likely to thrive in an environment with supportive parents, and US-based media company The Scene has highlighted the impact that even small 'affirmations' can have on kids in their latest video distributed online.

In the video, titled Parents and Transgender Children Read Powerful Affirmations, kids and their parents from a diverse range of backgrounds read a variety of messages promoting love, equality and acceptance, including: "I am hope," "I am loved, deeply and unconditionally just as I am" and "I am who I am".

The video is the second in their "Affirmations" series, with the first featuring fathers giving words of encouragement to their daughters.
We hope you have some tissues handy.
A study published in identified trans children who come from supportive homes as having no elevated signs of depression and only "slightly elevated anxiety" relative to population averages.
