Jennifer Aniston has joined many of those around the world who have embraced.

Aniston said she follows the 16:8 plan which requires fasting for 16 hours a day and eating during an eight-hour period.

“I do intermittent fasting, so there’s no food in the morning,” she told  according to . “I noticed a big difference in going without solid food for 16 hours.”

Aniston said she rises at 9 a.m. each day and sticks to liquids like green juices and coffee in the morning before breaking her fast later in the day.

Aniston also revealed her regimen included meditation and five workouts a week...which leaves not much time for anything else.

While the diet has caused consternation online, her comments offer some refreshing candour on the rigours and discipline required to live up to the Hollywood body beautiful.

In world where photo-shopped images project an ideal of effortless glamour, Aniston's comments reflect the intensity, discipline (and wealth) required to shapeshift into the age-defying wonder of the Dorian Gray channeling celebrity.

And frankly, it sounds exhausting.

It's not effortless and it's not easy. For those of us who don't have Aniston's millions, we can at least console ourselves with the luxury of pasta at 8pm.
