If you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of queer hearts shattering around the world.

Why? Because actress Kristen Stewart has hinted that she's ready to propose to girlfriend Dylan Meyer - that she "can't f*cking wait" to get down on one knee.

Stewart, who has only been dating Meyer since August of this year, told Stern that she's sure Meyer is the one for her.

“I want to be, like, sort of somewhat reasonable about it, but I think good things happen fast,” the Charlie's Angels star explained.
Stewart, who earlier this year revealed that , stressed that her desire to get married isn't “tied to any weird convention... it's more just like, when you know you know.”

And while she isn't interested in “kowtowing to a sort of patriarchal standard”, she is keen for her relationship to be legally recognised, saying that when it came to her bond with Meyer "it was like all bets were off".

“I met her years ago on a movie and I hadn’t seen her in six years, and then she rocked up at a friend’s birthday party and I was like, ‘Where have you been, and how have I not known you?’" Stewart told Stern

"She’s been living in L.A. alongside my life somehow but not ever converging.”

“We're so similar but different,” she explained, describing their connection as "obvious".

“She's a writer, she's brilliant.”

When asked about her former relationship with actor Robert Pattinson, Stewart was coy, but admitted: “Every relationship I've ever been in, I thought that was it.

“I've never really been the most casual person.”

If social media is anything to go by, it seems the feeling is mutual, with Meyer, a screenwriter who has worked on films including Loose Ends (2015) and XOXO, tweeting in September: "There is nothing like falling in love with someone to make you abruptly aware of all the different dumb/embarrassing/unsolicited directions your hair can go."
