glow-up (plural glow-ups) The of a person's appearance for the better.

Look, social media can be a pretty toxic place to spend time, but it occasionally brings out the good in us - and today's #LGBTQglowup hashtag on Twitter (trending worldwide at one point) is one of those occasions.

LGBTIQ+ people of all shapes, sizes, ages and cultural backgrounds have been flooding the social media platform with their personal transformations. The best part? Most of these transformations aren't just physical - they represent, on some level, a realisation of path, a scary step taken, an embracing of true self.

From the trans and non-binary people reflecting on their younger selves, to those who grew up in regional areas and only embraced their identity later in life, the posts are heartwarming beyond belief.
