To quote Erika in Vanderpump Rules: “I’m gonna give the gays everything they want.”

Soccer superstar and all-round icon Megan Rapinoe has been confirmed as a guest star for this weekend's episode of The L Word: Generation Q, sending fans into a frenzy on social media.

News of the exciting "celesbian cameo" was tweeted out by the show's official account, alongside an incredible GIF of Rapinoe animatedly stating "YOU'R'E GAY!!! - something we're sure will be well implemented by members of the LGBTIQ+ community for years to come.
According to , Rapinoe will appear on the Showtime series reboot as herself, appearing on the talk show Alice, hosted by character Alice Pieszecki, a journalist played by Leisha Haile.

She is also, according to rumours on social media, the first of several celebrity guest appearances this season.

Considering the Venn diagram of L Word fans and Megan Rapinoe fans is basically just a perfect circle, social media users were quick to celebrate the news.

"Since hearing that The L Word was coming back, I’ve daydreamed of Megan being on the show," one user wrote.

"This honestly is beyond my wildest dreams. The year of Megan Rapinoe continues."
