Anyone feeling nostalgic for that good old fashioned 90's conservative rumour mill?

Well, in something of a pivot for political news in the US, former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has put to bed long-running, unsubstantiated rumours that she is a lesbian, telling US shock-jock Howard Stern that she's "never even been tempted" to have an affair with another woman.

The comments were made while on the promotional tour for Clinton's new book, The Book of Gutsy Women, which she co-wrote with her daughter, Chelsea Clinton.

“Contrary to what you may hear, I actually like men,” Clinton told Stern, describing an early boyfriend as “really handsome” and resembling a “Greek god.”

“Raise your right hand," Stern replied jokingly. "You’ve never had a lesbian affair?”

Laughing, Clinton responded: “Never, never, never!”

She added: “Never even been tempted, thank you very much.”
According to , Stern's radio co-host, Robin Quivers, mused that women having “strong relationships” with other women can sometimes “cause suspicion.”

Clinton agreed.

“Everything we do can cause suspicion, apparently,” she said.

Well, that's that on that, then.
