A dedicated bunch of Sarah Paulson fans are campaigning for the popular actress to be cast as Miss Honey in the Netflix remake of Matilda.

It seems like an obvious choice: there's a clear resemblance between Paulson and Embeth Davidtz, who originally played Miss Honey in the 1996 children's classic. However, one problem may lie in the fact that Netflix are planning to remake the film as an animation.

Earlier this week that it will be re-imagining a number of Roald Dahl classics including The BFG and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory as part of a family-friendly animated series.
Still, fans don't seem too discouraged, angling for Paulson to voice the character of Miss Honey instead.

There was, however, a little conflict on social media, with some LGBTIQ+ commentators insisting Canadian actress Kat Barrel would better suit the role.

While there's no production schedule or release date for the Netflix remake as of yet, Paulson chimed into the discussion, tweeting a number of love heart emojis.
