Actor Taron Egerton has spoken once more about his experience playing Sir Elton John in the upcoming biopic, Rocketman - in particular, the "electric" sex scenes shared with Richard Madden.

Madden plays former boyfriend and manager John Reid in the film, which is due for release later this year. Capturing the energy of that relationship was vital, Egerton said in an interview .

“The rawness of that experience, the fear of that experience, but also the joy of the experience of Elton’s first kiss… it’s electric, it’s exciting, your stomach is doing somersaults,” he added.
“I treat it with the same love, care and affection I would as if it was my first experience of falling for somebody.”

While there has been that some of the film's sex scenes are facing the axe, Egerton insists that he and Madden pushed their shared scenes are far as possible.

“They were falling in love and it’s beautiful because it should be," he said.

"We didn’t want to play like they were a couple who were eventually going to fall apart, we wanted to play it like two guys in their early twenties who are falling in love and who are incredibly sexually attracted to each other.

“I don’t really know how much further we could have gone.”
