The 'Love, Simon' spin-off series finally has a title

However, 'Love, Victor' has been deemed too 'mature' for Disney+ and will now premiere on Hulu.

While the Love, Simon spinoff series is only months away, it will no longer premiere on Disney+.

The show, titled Love, Victor, is now set to debut as a Hulu exclusive, with reporting that Disney+ executives are trying to differentiate the streaming platform by focusing on "family friendly" entertainment options.

Inspired by Greg Berlanti's successful coming of age film, the series will follow Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School, who becomes pen pals with Simon. Victor will be played by actor Michael Cimono, while Nick Robinson (who played Simon in the film) will narrate the show's 30-minute episodes.
, the show's exploration of themes including drug use and sexuality were deemed out of step with Disney+'s public image.

Social media users were quick to express their concern at Disney+ abandoning the show, with many believing it's the latest example of the company shying away from LGBTIQ+ stories.

"Yes, let’s move a new original drama series with a already established fanbase from a worldwide streaming service Disney+ which is already low on original content to U.S only Hulu," one Twitter user wrote.

"Makes sense. Why are you so homophobic Disney+?"

However, on a more positive note, Hulu is thought to be excited about the show, already looking into a possible second season.

Love, Victor will premiere in June.
