When 23-year-old student Jillian Druzgala worked up the courage to approach an attractive guy at Uni, she had no way of knowing that the 'meet cute' moment would soon be going viral on Twitter - and for all the right reasons.

Attending the University of Iowa, Druzgala spotted Derek Donnellan in the communal dining hall and decided to walk over and give him her mobile number.

However, when he finally texted her, it wasn't the message she'd been hoping for. But it did have a silver lining.

"Hey this is Dereck from Burge!!" The message began

"I wanted to say that I respect your confidence to be able to come up to me and give me your number, you are very pretty!"

So far so good...

“Unfortunately I am gay BUT I am an identical twin and he’s straight if you’d like his number or Snapchat,” he wrote.
Sharing a screenshot of the message on Twitter, Druzgala wrote: “So yesterday i gave my number to a cute guy in the dining hall…LMFAOO."

The tweet soon racked up over 400,000 likes and 50,000 retweets.

But the best was yet to come.

The student soon shared a follow-up, revealing that she had met up with Derek’s twin, Scott, and the two of them got along really well:

“Went to lunch with the brother," she wrote. "His name is Scott. Will be hanging out again after thanksgiving break.”
The final and most wholesome update came when she tweeted a photo of herself with Dereck - saying the pair had also become friends since the encounter.

are now friends," she tweeted. "We will also be hanging out after thanksgiving break too.
