The Christmas angel has been given a modern, feminist make-over.

A UK-based not-for-profit, , has created Christmas tree toppers based on inspiration women.

"The Christmas Angel, Fairy, Tree Topper, by whatever name you call her, is a woman from a bygone era; a woman made of no more than plastic and glitter," the organisation says on their website.

"The old dame was due a modern makeover, so we thought why not venerate the real women inspiring us in 2017."
In the tree topper range so far are three strong women from the worlds of politics, entertainment and sport.

"The most presidential of tree toppers", Hillary Clinton, is 3D sculpted in her iconic power suit with a pair of angel wings.

Beyonce is "not just a chart topper, she's now a tree topper", and is depicted "in all her singing glory with mic and angelic wings".

Or there's Serena Williams, captured with her tennis racket in hand, who "serves a powerful message on top of your tree".
Each tree topper is available in a range of sizes, but they don't come cheap. Prices start at £80 (AUD$141.65), plus £20 (AUD$35.41) for shipping to Australia.

Women To Look Up To is a not-for-profit organisation that shines a light on female role models, with any profits reinvested in projects to further female equality.

Co-founders Savannah and Dom decided on Beyonce and Serena Williams as their first two tree toppers, while the third was voted on by the public, and was won in "a landslide" by Clinton.

Savannah and Dom create their spectacular tree toppers with a four-step 3D printing process, were inspired to create new angels after staring up at the same "old frumpy fairy" who had topped their tree for years.
"Traditions can be borrowed and change with the needs of the times, and we felt the need was definitely there, in a world where we need positive role models more than ever before," they told

Women To Look Up To also sells Christmas cards featuring Adele, Michelle Obama, Angelina Jolie, as well as Beyonce, Clinton and Williams.
For an additional cost, you can get a bespoke tree topper made of your mum, sister, daughter, a friend or a mentor - but she'll have to be available to come in for a 3D scan in London.
