”As a transgender Iranian-American, the past four years were devastating for me,” series director Tony Zosherafatain said in a statement.

“I witnessed and experienced daily attacks on my rights. It was an honour to meet and film four trans individuals who faced similar discrimination during the Trump era.”

He added: “I’m happy that Trans in Trumpland will be released on Topic so that it can reach a wide audience. I think viewers of all backgrounds will find common ground in the compelling personal journeys told in each episode.”
The series has been executive produced by Transparent actor Trace Lysette and Titans actor Chella Man, along with activist and community leader Miss Major Griffin-Gracy.

"The docuseries captures the fight that lives within us all," Man tweeted alongside a trailer.

He continued: "With trans individuals in front and BEHIND the camera, I have hope. I am HONOURED to be an executive producer of this series."

Miss Major tweeted: "The doll never set out to be a 'producer'... but the egos in Washington DC are too big, and the stakes are too high for my community."

She added: "So we and anyone who goes by the title of ALLY can't afford to be silent right now."
