Comment: It’s time we dealt with the fact that ‘Search Party’ is better than ‘Girls’

I’m not even going to discuss it with you.

With white nationalism running rampant across the globe, it’s tempting to try to understand that side of the story. “What’s making these people so angry?” “Why do they vote the way they do?”

But when it comes to comparing Search Party and Girls - as Fiona and Nick do on the latest episode of The Playlist podcast, which you can listen to below - there can be no such equivocating. Search Party is better. And that’s the end of the story. I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but I’m pretty sure this is backed up by science.
You can point out that it’s silly to compare two shows just because they feature young people living in New York City.

You can point out that Girls has been on for 6 seasons and captivated (or held captive?) the culture in ways Search Party just hasn’t.

You might even point out that Search Party wouldn’t exist without Girls.

But you would sound completely crazy.

Because Search Party is better. And frankly, I don’t even want to discuss it. Why? Because, as I already mentioned, Fiona and Nick already discussed it on the latest episode of The Playlist podcast!

They take square aim at TV shows that are apparently by and for millennials and decide once and for all which is the best.

Over the course of the conversation, they, as always, remain unafraid to ask the tough questions…

  • Why is Search Party is so much better than Girls?
  • Aren’t millennials exactly like every other generation of young people, just with better technology? Seriously who cares?
  • Also Girlboss is a terrible show.
That last one isn’t a question, but it’s a very exciting take that’s part of a very exciting episode.
