Goodbye Brooklyn Nine Nine - you were too beautiful for this world.

The only TV comedy worth a damn has just been cancelled and... *sob* I think I just have something in my eye...

All good things come to an end. After five glorious seasons, with 112 episodes, Brooklyn Nine Nine is coming to an end.

This morning Fox announced that it is cancelling Brooklyn Nine Nine, along with two other comedies it broadcasts The Mick and Last Man On Earth. Featuring the funniest ensemble cast on TV, the show starred Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher, alongside Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Joel McKinnon Miller, and Dirk Blocker.

The series has been a longtime favourite here at SBS. With season one, we launched it on our main channel before it moved over to SBS2 where it has remained the jewel in the crown ever since, even making the leap over to SBS VICELAND when that launched in 2016.

But we're not saying goodbye just yet. We do still have two episodes left to go. So, raise a glass to our friends at Brooklyn Nine Nine and tune in Wednesday nights at 8pm on SBS VICELAND.

This week's episode is streaming now at SBS On Demand:
